CREATING A SOCIAL PRESENCE

In simple and layman's terms a social presence or social media presence is hoe much influence you have on social media. Now I've heard people talk about how they're too busy to go on facebook or talk about how it's only imperious people that spend their time on twitter but when they feel the need to advertise their business or product they go on facebook. And they wonder why MrA has 500likes on instagram or facebook and they have just 5.
Now let's break it down,  the big question is how important is your social presence?
How do I answer this question.... Emmm how rich is Kim Kardashian,  sorry I missed that repeat your answer.  Oh that's right very rich. That tells you basically that popularity sells and people people with a lot of active followers on facebook, twitter, instagram and Pinterest have a far better chance of getting products sold online than you do. Do you know the number of people who have made millions,  built businesses and become influential through social media?
Lemme give you a clear example ever heard of crazy clown? Emmanuella?  Ohh what of bellanaija weddings? Do you know most of these people started becoming popular and making thousands of naira from their instagram accounts. What of Jiji.ng or irokotv  do you know how long they advertised on facebook?
So now you get the picture. A social media presence is important for your business and even for you as a person.
So if you don't have a social media presence and you know you don't have one when you put up a post and can't get up to 300 -500likes in 2days. Especially if it's about an important occasion in your life like a wedding or convocation or call to bar etc.
So how do you build a social media presence :
First don't wait till you need people to vote for you or support your cause before going on line to write build a following. The easiest place to create a social presence is on facebook, the reason is simple you can easily locate people you know and it's easy to operate so this is how it works
1. Login to facebook and increase your friends. Now I'm not advising you to just add anyone you see on facebook that's dangerous. Add people you know either from school,  primary,  secondary or university or from your workplace or from church or a training you attended but look for all the people you know. Facebook has made it easier by suggesting people you may know to you go and update.
2. Put up pictures or a post once in a while. People want to come to your page and see "you". Not what you reshare from other people's timeline. They want to see where you are and what you're up to.
3. Interact on facebook,  like other people's posts,  comment sometimes whether or not you like it isn't the issue. You like a post because of the person who posted it,  it makes the person I debted to do the same for you.
